Job Description
Responsible for the processing of general ledger and cash transactions, as well as maintenance of related accounting records. Involved in ad hoc process improvement and implementation projects that will be critical to the scalability of the accounting function. Own various GL accounts including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, and other assets. Take ownership of recording transactions, reconciling, and reporting, as well as developing processes to improve the speed and accuracy of financial close of accounts. Assist in accounting for international operations, ensuring that processes for assigned accounts are consistently applied to key foreign subsidiaries. Complete analysis on assigned accounts in connection with monthly close. Manage weekly cash reconciliation and reporting workstreams, including assistance in the preparation of cash forecast reporting to senior management. Comply with SOX requirements while performing the above tasks and participate in documentation and roll-out of new SOX compliant processes. Liaise with FP&A, tax, and other cross-functional teams to gather data, improve processes, and support business needs. Work with the team to accomplish team and company goals and drive projects to completion. Telecommuting permitted 50% or more but less than 100% per week within same geographic location as assigned office location.
Job Requirements:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, plus two (2) years of general ledger accounting experience.
Of the required experience, must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following:
- financial accounting systems (including preparing journal entries, preparing financial statements, and updating chart of accounts), and
- performing general ledger accounting for at least 10 entities
Of the required experience, must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following:
- preparing 100 or more account reconciliations on a monthly basis,
- preparing 50 or more journal entries on a monthly basis,
- Using Excel to analyze and reconcile accounts, including payroll, taxes, retirement, and/or benefits accounts, on a monthly basis, and
- automating manual processes such as cash reconciliations
Must have a CPA license in any U.S. jurisdiction.
