Job Description

Build functionality and solutions that enable Ripple to measure, manage and project our liquidity risk, market risk, and credit risk. Manage the strategy and successful delivery of the risk and identity platform that powers the workflows of Ripple’s innovative Risk, Compliance and Privacy functions. Lead and Drive vision, roadmap, and development of the next generation of risk and compliance platforms for all of our payments products. Work with the business stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal & InfoSec to understand the business needs, come-up with solutions and provide best customer experience. Partner with Ripple’s policy and security teams in assessing commercial and regulatory requirements to meet future growth. Synthesize product ideas from cross-functional teams and other Risk counterparts such as Product, Operations and Data Science. Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and with the risk and compliance ecosystem of partners and customers. Telecommuting permitted 50% or more but less than 100% per week within same geographic location as assigned office location.

Job Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field and plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate progressive risk and compliance experience; or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field plus three (3) years of risk and compliance experience.

Of the required experience, must have three (3) years of experience in (which may be gained concurrently): KYC/KYB, anti-money laundering, compliance, and fraud prevention.

Of the required experience, must have (2) years of experience in (which may be gained concurrently): 

  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Function
  • Leading and influencing a Product-driven organization

Or hold a valid CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) accreditation.

Job Description

We are looking for a Compliance and Risk Specialist to join the digital venture of one of the largest media and entertainment groups. They reach over 200+ million unique visitors a month who collectively account for 20+ billion page views and 20+ billion minutes spent across web and mobile, with businesses across news, entertainment, sports, local, e-commerce, classifieds, startup investments, local partnerships, and more. Our Client is launching a new loyalty & rewards iOS app that is targeted towards their subscribing members. It rewards the cashback to users on the local (in-store) as well as online purchases across their partnered companies.

This individual would be responsible for: (i). Overseeing the onboarding of all new banking clients. The successful candidate is expected to be knowledgeable and experienced in KYC, AML, Sanctions principles (ii). Oversee FP&A function (iii). Fundamental understanding of credit and fraud risk for a neobanking and cross border remittance platform.

The successful candidate will develop our internal policies including for partner performance monitoring and conduct regular checks to determine quality of service.

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of professional experience across risk, AML (Anti Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer) disciplines, preferably in an financial institution with both US and international presence
  • Meticulous, conscientious with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Familiar with excel and preparation of statistics for management and finance reporting
  • Preferred: a CA / CPA with professional certifications in risk and AML

  • What You'll Do:

  • Develop internal KYC, ALM, Sanctions monitoring and any other policies as required for initial client onboarding and ongoing client identity and transaction review
  • Monitoring and assessing the performance 3rd party service providers to ensure services are being provided inline with our internal policies, and any issues are flagged and resolved in a timely manner
  • Partnering with business teams to understand process efficiency requirements and making recommendations on best practices and alternatives
  • Setting up the necessary manual review procedures and working with customer support to resolve any issues with red flagged users
  • Training customer support and other team members as necessary to improve their understanding of the policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement a proactive Credit and Fraud risk management policy and framework to monitor, identify and resolve any issues
  • Work with data analytics to continuously refine our our credit and fraud risk assessment parameters
  • Analyzes activity to detect and prevent fraudulent activity based on reports, alerts, or notifications from third parties requesting assistance
  • Work with other business units to understand key concerns and creating adequate policies to address them
