Job Description

We are looking for an Product Designer to join the digital venture of one of the largest media and entertainment groups. They reach over 200+ million unique visitors a month who collectively account for 20+ billion page views and 20+ billion minutes spent across web and mobile, with businesses across news, entertainment, sports, local, e-commerce, classifieds, startup investments, local partnerships, and more. Our Client is launching a new loyalty & rewards iOS app that is targeted towards their subscribing members. It rewards the cashback to users on the local (in-store) as well as online purchases across their partnered companies.

As a product designer you will be responsible for the design and development of the product. Duties of this position include improving existing product designs and analyzing working concepts launched by competitors of similar products to match quality and performance. You will be responsible for the ideation and execution of the brand’s creative output focusing on lifecycle marketing, email, push notifications, social media, in-app creatives, marketing collaterals, posters, website design etc.

Who you are:

  • Practical skills in user-centered design and professional communication
  • Understands and follows current design trends, and is fluent in modern design tools
  • Familiar with the development process and environment of digital products such as
    • websites or mobile apps
  • Played a leading role as a designer in completing the development lifecycle of a digital
    • product, and participated in operating the product in the market
  • More than 3 years of direct experience in designing digital products
  • Preferred: Located in the San Francisco/San Jose/San Mateo area

    • Bonus Points:

  • Experience with design projects utilizing video editing or motion graphic software
  • Practical knowledge and skills in highly interactive services such as video games

    • analysis and usage flow)
  • User interface visualization (in different levels of detail depending on stages in the
    • design process)
  • Prototyping (using Figma, Sketch, ProtoPie, HTML, or other relevant tools)
  • Usability evaluation (through quantitative or qualitative research)
  • Visual design of user interface components (with highly polished details in line with the
    • target audience)
  • Setting up and operating a design system (for a coherent user experience and high
  • design quality across multiple products)

    The role:

    At WalletConnect we're looking for a product designer to lead the team crafting our products Web3Inbox, Web3Modal, and Web3Wallet. This is a unique opportunity to land a job where both your input and output are critical in shaping the product, its visual language and product design culture. You will be responsible for developing and executing design strategies, creating user interfaces, and overseeing the design process from concept to launch. You will work closely with the product, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure that our products meet our high standards.

    Requirements

    The right candidate:

    • Have an online portfolio of product design work that illustrates their critical thinking, craftsmanship, experience and style
    • Conceptualize and illustrate project briefs from multiple stakeholders: marketing, product, engineering
    • Display excellence in typography, color, layout, art direction and graphic design
    • You thrive in a remote-first work culture. Ability to manage your own work
    • Comfortable working with an engineering-focused org
    • You went down the web3 rabbit hole and _actively_ participate in the space and ecosystem. Knowing the ins and outs of web3 is essential
    • Analyze and create vibes
    • Proficient in English across written and verbal communication. You will be required to think and work with copy

    Nice to haves:

    • Enjoy designing for technical content and audience
    • Experienced or willing to learn 3D. We use 3D as the main building block of all visual communication and you will be expected to build upon that foundation
    • Experience in motion design work
    • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browsers, and mobile devices
